Just want to say thank you for all that you have done for us and our Range Rover!!! Doug is the best mechanic, so honest and real…. He totally took care of my car above and beyond what anyone else would have done — I would never take my Range to anyone else but Doug — He IS the best Land Rover Master Tech for sure!!

I’ve know Doug for about 5 years now and he has always been a true professional. He has always been fair and tries to work around my schedule. It’s nice to have an alternative to the dealer that you can trust and I trust Green Oval Motors with my and anyone else’s Land Rover.

Buying a Land Rover was one of the best… and worst things I’ve ever done. I love the freedom and adventure I’ve enjoyed with it. But I was not prepared for the dent it made in my wallet. Shortly after buying my Disco gas prices shot through the roof and through my budget. Finding Doug saved me from deserting my car. He also saved me from the smoke-and-mirrors games and feelings of inadequacy that someone like me (who doesn’t know about cars) would find in another shop. Doug makes sure I understand the needs of my car and points out only maintenance issues that are important. I always know he’s looking out for me and that makes good business for him – I’ll never go anywhere else!

Having owned a few Rovers, all with the obligatory love/hate relationship, I had a fairly good idea what I was getting into when I finally tracked down my ’95 Classic 25th Anniversary Edition. On balance, it’s been spectacular. But on those occasions when the old girl needed some work, my options had been either Rover dealers or so-called “independent” shops – none of whom were that appealing since I’m sure neither “service” nor “value” was in their vocabulary. Then a good friend of mine introduced me to Doug and Green Oval Motors. Hope is not lost! As advertised, Doug is extremely knowledgeable, all about service and great value, and (bonus) a complete pleasure to work with. With his help, I have no doubt the old girl will be running strong for another 25 years…thanks Doug!!!

Directly and indirectly I have known Doug for as long as I’ve owned my Range Rover. When I used to take my car into the dealership with service problems, Doug would always seem to be the guy who the service representative always consulted with when they were unable to diagnose the problem themselves. I have always wanted to find an alternative to having to go to the Land Rover dealership because of cost and lack of proper diagnosis. Finally we all have that option available now that an experienced technician like Doug is here for our benefit. Doug is fair, attentive and caring. I have recommended Doug to as many Land Rover owners that I know and some that I just met. Thanks for being there, Doug.

Every time I bring my rover in for scheduled maintenance or repair, Doug and Green Oval Motors do an exceptional job of scheduling my rover to get in the shop quickly, they always provide honest feedback about costs (even if that means referring me to another company who has a lower price on a specific part), they consistently come in on cost target – or less, and they are an absolute joy to do business with. I find myself wanting to bring my rover in for more maintenance because everyone is so incredibly nice and our rover is always in tip-top shape when we pick it up.

We’ve moved to and from Portland a few times, and one of the biggest things we miss about Portland when we’re away is Green Oval Motors. I simply can’t recommend a rover service shop more. Green Oval Motors is awesome!

Doug and his crew are the BEST! They not only fix what I think is wrong – they go the extra mile once they are really underneath and spot things that should also be checked. No it’s not a sales job – he will show you the “parts” – I know he has saved me from several dramas with my car. You can totally trust them to have you and your car’s best interest at heart. Imagine a repair shop with a heart!

I just had my Rover serviced at Green Oval for the first time and all I can say is that they are easily the best Land Rover shop in Portland. Doug knows them so well that he has found ways to save you money by doing fixes other shops wouldn’t even know about. They are meticulous in checking over the vehicle and explaining what issues are there, whey they could become a major problem, and helping to prioritize what if anything needs to be done. I have been to other Rover shops and this one is a gold mine.”
